The Chaikin Oscillator measures volume-weighted momentum, revealing the speed and strength of accumulation or distribution. On FX Replay, it excels at validating breakouts, confirming reversals, and uncovering hidden volume divergences.
How to Use It in FX Replay
Add the Indicator
- Indicators → search “Chaikin Oscillator”
- Apply with default settings: 3-period EMA – 10-period EMA of the Accumulation/Distribution (A/D) line
Read the Oscillator
- Above 0 → Net buying pressure — bias toward long entries
- Below 0 → Net selling pressure — bias toward short setups
- Flat / mixed → Potential breakout brewing or low-conviction market
Backtesting Trade Setups
- Breakout Confirmation
- Price breaks above structure & oscillator spikes positive → long confirmed
- Price breaks below support & oscillator drops negative → short confirmed
- Divergence Reversal
- Price makes higher highs while oscillator makes lower highs → bearish divergence → fade the move
- Price makes lower lows while oscillator makes higher lows → bullish divergence → reversal setup
